Chairman's Corner

April 1, 2009

Dear Mason County Republicans,

I hate to be the bearer of the bad news this month but it’s best I do so as to spare you any grief; April 15th is Tax Deadline!

If you want an automatic extension of time to file your 2008 tax return, file Form 4868, Filing the form gives you until Oct. 15th 2009 to file your return. To avoid a penalty however, be sure to pay any taxes that are due on April 15th.

President Reagan, our famous Republican president said that “everyday is a mugging” when it comes to the government and tax collecting.

It’s incomprehensible to me how government can take our hard earn dollars in the form of taxes then create entitlements to give to people who refuse to labor.

Where is the fairness in this, I ask? And why must government take our hard gotten monies and give it to other countries in the form of foreign aid, when there are many American citizens living at below the poverty level?

I’ll answer my own questions here. It’s because the Democrats cannot see beyond their tax and spend philosophy. Taxpayers are looked at as a government purse.

Your tax burden is suffocating you and to alleviate this suffering you should write to your congressman and demand a fairer way of paying taxes. Then, demand that congress end the irresponsible pork barrel, corporate welfare and runaway spending.

The time has come for government to give us an assurance of fiscal accountability for taxes collected and spent. This is a Republican way of solving America’s taxing dilemma.

Sincerely,
George Rickle, Chairman
Mason County Republican Party

P.S You may want to join many of us on April 15th to go to Olympia. More information at the Meeting on Monday April 13th.
